Publications of the BFU
Legal Framework
For each investigation, the Federal Bureau will prepare a report appropriate to the kind and severity of the occurrence. In this report the exclusive purpose of the investigation shall be pointed out:
Accidents and incidents are subject to investigations with the sole purpose of determining the causes as far as possible with the intention of preventing future accidents and incidents.
The investigation shall not serve the purpose of establishing blame, liability or claims.
